One Laptop Per Child was founded to make $100 laptops available to children around the world, including children in developing countries. It's a completely non-profit organization.Intel not too long ago decided to introduce it's own cheap laptop to compete with this organization. What's that you say? evil? Yeah, I'm not really sure why Intel thought that would be a good move.
Intel has now decided to help out OLPC instead of working against them.
